HOW OLD MUST I BE TO BARTEND IN NEW YORK?

18 to bartend in New York and most states throughout the United States.

 

DO YOU OFFER JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE AFTER GRADUATION?

Yes! At the Long Island Bartending School we provide job placement assistance throughout all of New York (Long Island, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn) and New Jersey. We are also the only bartending school on Long Island that is an affiliated member of the Professional Bartending Schools of America, offering our graduates nationwide job placement assistance! We provide our graduates with every tool imaginable to help them find a bartending job, from a job hunting seminar to one-on-one assistance to a 24/7 on-line database that provides real job leads and job hunting/resume tips.

 

DO YOU OFFER FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES?

We know many of our students are going to school and working at the same time, or/and are working two jobs to make ends meet. Students can mix and match classes and take the course over again as often as they wish. We will even provide one-on-one training if need be!


WHAT IF I FAIL THE TEST?

Don't worry, you WILL pass, even if not the first time around. Every student learns at a difference pace. Our dedicated instructors will help you every step of the way. You can retake part or all of the course as many times as you wish and as often as you need. There is NEVER an addition fee!

 

AM I TOO OLD FOR BARTENDING?

Not at all! Hotel bars, country clubs, casinos, neighborhood bars and many restaurant bars like to hire a more mature person. Some of our graduates even make their own business cards and do very well bartending private parties and events. Others make great money working for catering companies. Don't let your age stop you!

 

WHAT DO I LOOK FOR WHEN RESEARCHING BARTENDING SCHOOLS?

1.Check to see if the school is licensed by the NY State Education Department.

2.Attend a trial class or at least sit in on a class.

3.Do the facilities have the look and feel of a real-working bar?

4.Do the instructors seem knowledgeable and professional?

5. Is the school overcrowded?

6. How many bar stations are there? At the Long Island Bartending we have 11 stations and 11 students per class. Most schools have 4 or 5 stations and 12-20 students. You do the math! That's 3 or more to a station - you would have to take the course for a month to get the same experience provided at the Long Island Bartending School!

7. Does the manual look professional and up-to-date?

8. Do they have a 24/7 job placement on-line database?

9. Did they allow you to see the jobs listed on the database?

10. Do they provide a solid wine, spirit and beer class?

11. Do they provide POS register training; do they even have a POS Register?

12. Do they have a real beer tap system and a beer seminar>

13. Can you take the course over again whenever you want?

14. Do they have affiliated schools nationwide in case you move out of New York?
